Launch are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Illumio Monitoring & Optimization Specialist to provide expert-level guidance, support, and insight into the monitoring and performance management of our Illumio deployment. This role is critical for ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and security of the Illumio platform within our network infrastructure.

You will work closely with security, infrastructure, and application teams to monitor Illumio performance, troubleshoot complex issues, optimize policy enforcement, and integrate with broader security and monitoring ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Performance Analysis

• Leverage Illumio’s built-in dashboards, SIEM integrations, and external tools to monitor system health, identify anomalies, and detect performance bottlenecks.
• Conduct trend analysis and generate actionable insights to enhance platform performance.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to Illumio deployment, including network traffic flows, security policies, segmentation, and application connectivity.
• Work across teams to perform root cause analysis for incidents impacting performance or security posture.

Performance Optimization

• Analyze monitoring data to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Implement tuning and optimization strategies to maximize Illumio’s scalability and operational effectiveness.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation on monitoring configurations, performance metrics, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
• Produce technical reports for stakeholders on system performance and incident response activities.

Training & Support

• Provide support to internal IT and security teams on Illumio monitoring and diagnostics.
• Develop and deliver training or documentation for operational teams to enhance Illumio understanding and usage.

Integration & Automation

• Integrate Illumio with SIEM, SOAR, and other enterprise monitoring/security platforms.
• Automate monitoring workflows using scripting or API integrations (e.g., Python, Bash).

Policy Development Support

• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to refine and enforce Illumio security policies, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements.

Continuous Learning & Improvement

• Stay up to date on Illumio platform updates, cybersecurity trends, and monitoring best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools or approaches for enhanced observability and performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Illumio, including deployment, configuration, and operational management.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, micro-segmentation, and security policy frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and perform detailed root cause analysis.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills—able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) and cloud environments.
• Experience in documenting processes, writing technical reports, and contributing to knowledge-sharing practices.
• Project/task management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in network security, Illumio, or related platforms.
• Familiarity with enterprise SIEM/SOAR tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
• Experience in large-scale, complex environments such as finance, healthcare, or government sectors.
