Predictive Recruitment Partners has been exclusively engaged by Jay’s Dairy to find a commercially savvy Business Manager who sees the value of getting in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing, niche supplier within the dairy industry.

About Jay’s Dairy:
Jay’s Dairy, previously known as Modern Foods & Beverages, debuted in November 2020 as a company committed to creating genuine Indian products enriched with traditional methods and ingredients. Every product carries the original taste of India, tantalizing taste buds with every bite. Their products are not only popular with people of Indian Origin but also with Middle Eastern and African origin because of the similarity between the cultures and cuisines. Indeed, regardless of background, any lover of Indian flavours will find Jay’s dairy products exciting and incredibly moreish.

Jay’s mission is to spread the joy of Indian flavours across Australia, encouraging people to experience the exotic world of Indian dairy product, every one of which will delight the senses.

If you're passionate about sharing traditionally prepared foods that are unadulterated by preservatives and chemicals, with the wider population, you will find your kindred spirits at Jay’s.

About the role:
Barely five years since its launch, Jay’s Dairy is entering an exciting growth phase. With a current turnover of $2 million and a clear path to quadruple that by 2027, it’s time for the founder to focus on what he does best—driving sales and high-level deals. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a commercially savvy and strategically minded Business Manager to partner closely with the founder and help shape the company’s next chapter. You’ll step into a critical leadership role—laying the operational foundations, building scalable systems, and helping drive the business to an $8 million turnover within the next two years.

A note on salary: This is a rare ground-floor opportunity. Like the company, the role (and its remuneration) will grow—significantly. Initially, the salary will reflect the company’s current stage, but the upside is real. As the business scales, so too will the scope, influence, and financial rewards of this role. By 2027, this role is expected to command a package commensurate with the responsibility and impact you’ll have had.

If you’re someone who values long-term rewards over short-term comfort—and you’re excited about building something with purpose—this is for you.

Reporting directly to the founder, you will be responsible for ensuring the company operates efficiently and profitably, meets its safety and regulatory obligations, gains optimal utilisation from its resources, and hires the right people to support the growth strategy.

It will see you:

  • Checking financial performance against targets
  • Weighing up costs to ensure optimal profitability
  • Ensuring a smooth and efficient move to new, larger premises
  • Managing people to lift productivity and boost morale
  • Developing and reviewing processes and procedures to ensure they are scalable and compliant
  • Ensuring standards and quality are never compromised
  • Hiring the new Production Manager to oversee the running of the factory
  • Managing contracts with key stakeholders
  • Overseeing product development and testing.

About you:
You probably describe yourself as a creative, critical thinker who loves achieving results and keeping a focus on the big picture while never overlooking the details necessary to get there.

You have an enquiring mind and thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment, yet you never compromise on quality. You enjoy solving problems and seeing the results of your work. Able to manage multiple priorities, you are structured, and exercise strong leadership and control over the processes that allow work to get done well and efficiently.

You favour an analytical approach to work and problem-solving, leveraging your strengths as a strategic thinker to produce plans that are well thought-out and thoroughly analysed. When it comes to risk, you ensure the risks are calculated and supported by data.

You’re not afraid of holding others to account for the quality of their output and will follow up thoroughly to ensure deadlines are met and rules are adhered to.

What you bring to the role:

  • A high degree of desire to operate at agreed standards
  • Rigorous adherence to health regulations and standards of quality
  • Strong focus on results and the accomplishment of goals
  • Ability to work independently and confidently with people and systems
  • A desire to work at a faster than average pace without compromising on quality output
  • Drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to work
  • Careful analysis of opportunities while applying ingenuity and creativity
  • A high regard for authority, autonomy, and accountability
  • Swift, yet carefully considered decision making
  • Ability to analyse and improve existing systems and technology.

What we can provide:
A starting salary of $90,000 plus superannuation is offered with the expectation that by 2027, this role will be rewarded in line with the growth it helps deliver.

Plus, this is an opportunity like no other to get in on the ground floor of a company with a proven track record of producing products that are in high demand with discerning customers and an aggressive growth strategy over the next two years.

If you’re someone who values long-term rewards over short-term comfort, and you’re prepared to back yourself when it comes to building something with purpose, in partnership with the founder of Jay’s Dairy, this is the role for you.

What you must have to apply for this role:

  • Ability and desire to turn a founder’s vision into executable plans
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to keep everyone aligned
  • Deep understanding of margins, cash flow, and operational efficiency
  • Ability to interpret financials and make commercially sound decisions
  • Ability to think big-picture and align operational decisions to long-term growth goals
  • Experience wearing multiple hats (HR, finance, ops, compliance) without getting overwhelmed
  • Understand how to optimise limited resources (people, time, money)
  • A valid Australian drivers’ licence
  • The right to work without restriction in Australia

You will be highly regarded if you have also:

  • Worked previously in either the dairy or raw foods industry
  • Created business structures/processes/procedures from scratch previously.
