About the role

Whelan Kartaway, a leading provider of waste management and recycling services, is seeking a highly experienced State Manager QLD to oversee its operations in Queensland. This full-time leadership role will be based in Salisbury, QLD and is a fantastic opportunity for a talented manager to make a significant impact leading the State within a growing organisation.

What you'll be doing

Providing strategic leadership and oversight for the Queensland operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery

Managing a team of operational staff, including setting performance goals, providing coaching and development, and driving continuous improvement

Managing an element of the sales delivery

Developing and implementing business plans to drive growth and profitability in the Queensland market

Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies

Monitoring and reporting on financial and operational KPIs to drive informed decision-making

Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a senior management role within the waste management, logistics or a similar industry, with waste industry experience highly regarded.

Strong and demonstrated operational and people management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams

Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities

Demonstrated oversight of P&L, balance sheet and all financials

Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies to drive profitability and market share

Thorough understanding of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
