Are you a highly organised and customer-focused individual with a knack for Freight Forwarding? Our client, a global leader in supply chain optimisation, is seeking a dedicated Cartage Coordinator to join their Swanston Control Tower team in Melbourne!
About the Role:
As a Cartage Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in successfully managing cartage operations for all import freight shipments assigned to the control tower. You will be the go-to person for ensuring smooth and efficient delivery, all while providing exceptional customer service to our valued clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage all cartage operations, including monitoring cargo arrival and availability, pre-alerting carriers, accruing/paying charges, and obtaining delivery orders.
- Ensure cargo is clear for release (Customs and Quarantine) and not released to COD customers without payment.
- Provide all relevant documents and information to carriers and ensure complete and accurate invoicing.
- Arrange collection of cargo prior to storage.
- Manage LCL, FCL, and Air cartage coordination.
- Register shipments using the CargoWise 1 system.
- Monitor customs clearance status, navigating ICS and 1Stop.
- Liaise with suppliers and third-party companies.
- Provide quotes to internal stakeholders upon request.
- Ensure all costs are accrued and sent for posting or disputed in a timely manner.
- Ensure all intercompany invoices are correct and imported in a timely manner or disputed.
- Contribute to meeting branch/department KPIs within the Control Tower.
- Adhere to all Quality, Environmental, and OH&S criteria as stipulated in the client's IMS Manual.
What You'll Bring:
- Proficiency through training and/or experience in forwarding and customs procedures, transport, and customer service techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Well-organised with strong time management, problem-solving, and organisational skills, able to prioritise job tasks and work to deadlines.
- Preferred experience with CargoWise 1 and 1-Stop knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Highly motivated and self-sufficient.
