Who are we?
Deakin Analytics & Insights is the central hub for data analytics and delivery of data-driven insights to inform decisions through enhanced reporting capabilities and strengthened partnerships across the University. The team provides leadership and coordination across the Business Insights and Intelligence Network, building on clear frameworks and guardrails to align data, reporting, and insights with Deakin's strategic goals. It plays a vital role in supporting the University’s data-driven decision-making strategy by developing, enhancing, and maintaining key assets, and facilitating frameworks aligned with best practices. The team also works to increase awareness and usage of these assets by ensuring they are accessible and providing education on their availability and practical application.
About the role:
The Senior Coordinator, Deakin Analytics & Insights is central to the planning, operations and communications of the central Deakin Analytics and Insights team and the broader network of specialist analytics teams across the University. This role is responsible for coordinating relationships with other areas of the University, coordinating capability development (including the community of practice), and supporting effective communication and alignment of team and network activities. The Senior Coordinator enables others to succeed by driving process design and improvement, and plays a key role in shaping how the team and network operate. Reporting to and directly supporting the Executive Director, Deakin Analytics and Insights, the role works proactively to deliver high-quality, efficient, and effective services.
As Senior Coordinator, Deakin Analytics & Insights, you will:
- Support the development of Divisional and Network planning, monitoring progress against plans the reviewing/adjusting plans as required
- Play a critical role in coordination of the Insights Network, particularly in relation to the community of practice and technical user groups
- Support strategy development, implementation and reporting activities
- Develop and implement business processes that support the delivery of Divisional and Network objectives, with a view to continuous improvement
- Establish and maintain strong relationships and be a key liaison between the analytics team and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure project alignment with University priorities.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
