About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Service Coordinator to provide leadership and operational oversight in the coordination of home care and community-based services to support older people to live safely and independently in their homes.

The position is responsible for ensuring service delivery is timely, responsive, and aligned with individual client needs, while meeting all regulatory,
quality, and organisational standards.

The Senior Service Coordinator will work closely with Care Managers, service providers, and clients. The role will coordinate effective communication across all stakeholders, oversees workflow and service requests, and ensure accurate and timely documentation in client systems. The role is also accountable for incident and risk reporting through platforms such as ionMy, monitoring compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards (ACQSC), and supporting a culture of continuous improvement and client satisfaction. This successful incumbent will provide guidance to service coordination staff, contribute to performance reporting, and support the operational readiness of the service.
Some of the main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide mentoring and day to day management to Service Coordinators, and undertake regular staff supervision meetings and documentation
  • Support career development reviews and performance management of Service Coordinators
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and accountability
  • Manage and support the rostering team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and responsiveness to service demands.
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach to MiCare service delivery and program development
  • Assist in the development of workforce planning
  • Monitor and respond to roster gaps, cancellations, and emergencies in a proactive and client-focused manner

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV or above in Aged Care, Community Services, Business Administration or Leadership.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in rostering/scheduling within aged care, community care or similar environment
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring a small team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Sound knowledge of relevant aged care legislation, standards, and workforce awards.
  • Proficiency in client and rostering systems (e.g., AlayaCare,).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to speak multiple languages highly desirable.
