Warehouse Manager/Supervisor – 6 Month Contract Position

Armstrong Flooring is looking for an experienced hands on warehouse manager to lead and mentor the Armstrong Flooring warehouse team and assume responsibility for Victorian raw materials and finished goods warehousing facilities

About the Role

Armstrong Flooring’s warehouse is currently located at its manufacturing facility at Braeside. The warehouse currently houses raw materials for Armstrong Flooring’s manufacturing facility, locally manufactured finished goods and imported finished goods. 3PL warehousing is provided in Queensland and New Zealand. Recently the warehouse has moved to Microsoft Dynamics D365 and is intending to implement the Advanced Warehousing module in coming months.

Reporting to the Operations Manager this is a 6 month role to mentor and train the existing warehouse co-ordinator while overseeing Armstrong Flooring's Braeside warehouse operations during a period of transition to Microsoft Dynamics. The role will include:

Supervising and co-ordinating the receiving, storage and distribution of goods

Inventory control including maintaining stock accuracy, conducting regular stock takes and ensuring adequate warehouse facilities to meet inventory demand

Mentoring and training the warehouse co-ordinator to assume a leadership and management of the warehouse

Supervision and training of warehouse staff (around 10 employees)

Utilising ERP and WMS systems effectively to ensure data accuracy and smooth flow of stock

Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the warehouse, equipment and systems

Implementing continuous improvement including optimising warehouse layout and operations and implement use of digital systems to improve efficiency, give greater visibility and mitigate risk

Driving improved safety, compliance and environmental performance in all aspects of warehouse operations

Customer centric approach promoting outstanding customer service both internally and externally collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth customer order co-ordination

About You

Ideally, you will have:

Proven warehouse management experience

Strong knowledge of warehouse management principles, inventory control and distribution processes

Strong administrative skills and attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem solving aptitude

Strong leadership and communication skills with the proven ability to work through and implement change

Proficient in the use of ERP/warehouse management systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics D365)

Forklift licence

Sound understanding of HSE regulations and Chain of Responsibility obligations essential
