They are currently undertaking a strategic organisational transformation and are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead change within the payroll function.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position works in partnership with key stakeholders (including HR, Finance and IT) to develop and implement significant improvements to the payroll processes. Leading a team of 2 payroll officers, the role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the payroll.
Duties include:
- Lead a small team in end-to-end payroll processing across fortnightly payroll for approximately 800 employees.
- Review and analyse current payroll processing procedures, including risk and controls.
- Manage the payroll and time-in-attendance systems, while business partnering with HR, IT & Finance teams on best practices for payroll and rostering for the organisation.
- Develop a high performing team culture, through quality coaching and training with a focus on achieving objectives and targets.
- Accurately interpret awards and EBA’s, providing advice and guidance to the business.
- Perform end of month and year end financial reconciliation and reporting requirements for payroll (including Tax, Superannuation and Workcover obligations).
- Continually review legislative instruments to adjust and adapt practices as needed (including Tax, Super, NES, etc).
- Developing a culture of continuous improvement for the development and implementation of payroll systems, policies, procedures, and practices.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have proven experience leading teams in end-to-end payroll delivery, as well as the following attributes:
- Experience in leading medium size payroll teams (ideally within NFP, Services or community sector).
- Skilled in interpreting legislation frameworks such as EBAs and Modern Awards.
- Australia-wide knowledge of Workcover, Payroll Tax and Superannuation requirements.
- Strong technical understanding of payroll and HRIS systems.
- Expertise in identifying and recommending system improvements and implementing change.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others.
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence change.

- Blue Card (Working With Children).
- Yellow Card or NDIS Workers Check (Department of Communities, Disabilities Services and Seniors).
- LCS2 (Child Safety and Personal History Screening).
- National Crime Check.
