About the Company
We are currently working with a well known and fully accredited, government-funded, not-for-profit residential aged care facility with deep roots in the Bayside community. Currently undergoing an expansion set for completion in 2025.
Role on offer
Join this growing aged care facility as their general services manager and manage all aspects of the retirement home. Including facilities management, contract agreements, supply negotiation and ensure all maintenance is completed in a safe and compliant way.
Day to Day duties
- Collaborate with the Finance department on contract management with suppliers for maintenance and general service
- Manage the ordering and annual review of non-clinical goods and services (excluding catering) to ensure value for money.
- Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate the recruitment, on boarding, and induction of maintenance, cleaning, and laundry staff, in partnership with the CEO.
- Act as the point of contact for external IT provider to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Supervise the Maintenance Officer to ensure all buildings, resident rooms, common areas, and gardens are maintained to a high standard.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and routine inspection checklists.
- Oversee room refurbishment schedules, ensuring timely turnaround between resident occupations.
- Monitor budgets for maintenance and general services.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and order in resident rooms and common areas.
- Oversee on-site laundry operations, ensuring compliance with legislative guidelines.
- Manage staff roistering for cleaning and laundry services in line with budgetary constraints.
- Participate in the OHS Committee and ensure a safe living and working environment.
- Maintain compliance with OHS regulations and develop appropriate training programs.
- Attend weekly meetings with builders and the CEO regarding the ongoing expansion, ensuring smooth integration of new rooms and facilities.
- Assist in the on boarding of new residents into newly constructed areas.
