Business Development Manager – Cybersecurity Consulting
Cybertify is looking for a sharp, persistent, and commercially astute Business Development Manager to join our founding sales team. In this role, you will hunt for new business, build relationships with senior decision-makers, and generate revenue by connecting Australia’s most regulated organisations with Cybertify’s premium cybersecurity services.
This is a pure business development role — no hand-holding, no fluff. You must be comfortable prospecting, qualifying, pitching, and closing deals across complex service lines including compliance, governance, penetration testing, and virtual CISO support.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across targeted sectors
Drive outbound outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, events, and referrals
Book discovery calls, manage sales pipelines, and deliver tailored pitches to mid-market and enterprise clients
Build and maintain relationships with CISOs, GMs, Legal Counsel, and Board-level stakeholders
Collaborate with internal pre-sales and technical experts to shape proposals and scopes
Maintain CRM hygiene and report on weekly activity, opportunity progression, and deal performance
Represent Cybertify at industry events, conferences, and partner functions
Work closely with marketing to refine messaging and support targeted campaigns
Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
What You Bring
Minimum 3+ years in B2B cybersecurity consulting
Proven success in closing service-based deals in regulated industries
A strong personal network across sectors such as legal, finance, healthcare, education, or government
Understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as ISO 27001, Essential Eight, SOC 2, vCISO, and pen testing
High attention to detail, CRM discipline, and a structured approach to sales cycles
Excellent communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills
Confident in handling complex buying groups and long sales cycles
Hunger, discipline, and resilience — you don’t chase leads, you create them
