About the Centre
The City of Melbourne is redeveloping the Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre located within JJ Holland Park in Kensington. The new $68.2 million environmentally sustainable facility is due to open Mid 2025 and will feature: a heated 25 -Metre 8 Lane Pool, 700 m2 Health Club, three multi-purpose courts, three large flexible spaces and a Café.
About the role
As a Duty Manager at Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centreyou will have delegated authority of the Centre Manager, and will maintain a broad knowledge of centre programs and services whilst at the same time managing a range of centre functions whilst on shift which may include;
- Maintaining a focus on 'Big Picture' issues Centre wide
- Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of Centre's Emergency Action Plan
- Working autonomously as well as being an active leader
This is a Permanent full time role with a salary of $62k plus super, Five days a week; Sunday to Thursday is the required work pattern.
About you
As a Duty Manager you will act as positive role model in an effort to build strong people, strong families and strong communities, as well as identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users.
Essential Qualifications
- Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Other Desired Qualifications or Knowledge
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is an advantage
- Previous experience in a similar facility in a supervisory role is desirable
