Clerk Grade: 5/6
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary up to 12 months with potential for Ongoing
Location: Parramatta location with hybrid working

About the role
The Tax Debt branch is responsible for resolving debt for Business Taxes, Land Tax and Duties products as well as educating and assisting customers in meeting their ongoing tax obligations.

If this sounds like you, we have exciting opportunities for you to join our dynamic Business Taxes Debt Team as an Assistant Operations Officer.
Your day-to-day
- Review complex matters and provide professional legislative and procedural advice to customers and staff
- Coach and develop staff, undertake staff quality assurance reviews to identify training needs and uplift capability within your assigned team
- Analyse customer information using external and internal data sources and make appropriate debt resolution recommendations
- Maintain comprehensive and up to date knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures and business rules
- Contribute to change through continuous improvement and innovation
- Report regularly to team leaders on coaching and development outcomes
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:
- A positive 'can-do' attitude and ability to develop effective relationships with staff and other stakeholders
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation, policies, and procedures
- Problem solving, analysis and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills and coaching experience
- Professional judgement, sensitivity, and initiative when dealing with customers
- Business, accounting or finance qualifications would be highly regarded.

Salary Grade 5/6, with the base salary for this role starting at $97,027 base plus superannuation
