About the role:

If successful, you will oversee the day-to-day operations and coordinate activities of the Quality Teaching & Learning (QTL) unit, coordinate emerging projects; and support the network activities and other professional development activities.

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

  • A Degree in Education, Adult and Vocational Education or similar field with a TESOL major or equivalent which includes a practicum; OR A Degree and a recognised postgraduate TESOL qualification with no less than 100 contact hours that includes a practicum
  • Current Certificate IV TAE
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and coordinate daily operations of a high functioning team
  • Good project management skills including demonstrated ability in supporting and coordinating projects of various sizes and complexity
  • Well-developed communication and problem solving skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills to liaise effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply the regulatory and compliance requirements to curriculum and assessment development in the Foundation Studies and VET sector, and in course accreditation with ASQA
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF), Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), VET Quality Framework, Skills First, SEE, AMEP and ACFE policy frameworks and delivery requirements
  • Detailed working knowledge of the adult learning pedagogy, TESOL delivery and the funding and regulatory environments in which AMES Australia operates
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels, both autonomously and co-operatively in a team environment
  • Thorough knowledge of a range of English language and literacy curricula
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and produce high quality resources for teaching and learning
  • Demonstrated ability to assess program needs and consult regarding project outcomes to address identified teaching and learning needs
  • Highly developed Information & Communication Technology (ICT) and computer skills, including the effective use of Microsoft Office applications and web-based online learning platforms
  • The ability to use, adapt, adopt and evaluate learning technologies
  • Demonstrated positive values of integrity, reliability, teamwork and professionalism and demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement principles
