THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re partnering with a local council to find an experienced and motivated Public Projects Interface Officer to lead stakeholder coordination across a range of major state-led infrastructure projects.
In this role, you’ll serve as the primary liaison with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and its contractors, ensuring project delivery aligns with Council’s requirements - especially regarding asset handovers, planning approvals, and compliance with formal Interface Agreements.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of civil infrastructure, asset management, and stakeholder engagement, contributing to major infrastructure projects.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Be the Council’s primary contact for TfNSW on construction and planning interface matters.
- Facilitate and track approvals for works permits, road occupancy licences, hoardings, scaffolding, crane licences, and Roads Act 1993 notifications.
- Respond to technical plans and documentation submitted by State contractors.
- Monitor compliance with Interface Agreements and manage asset handover processes.
- Represent Council in meetings with government agencies, contractors, and the community.
- Keep internal records of decisions, commitments, and project milestones.
- Provide high-level briefings to Council Executives and Directors.
- Coordinate community engagement and media responses in collaboration with internal communications teams and TfNSW.
ABOUT YOU
You’re a confident and capable professional with experience navigating complex infrastructure environments and managing relationships across government, community, and industry.
Essential:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- Strong experience in infrastructure delivery, asset management, or local government construction.
- Demonstrated success working with multi-stakeholder projects—particularly involving State Government.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including community liaison and internal briefings.
- Understanding of relevant NSW legislation and council approval processes.
