THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re partnering with a local council to find an experienced and motivated Public Projects Interface Officer to lead stakeholder coordination across a range of major state-led infrastructure projects.

In this role, you’ll serve as the primary liaison with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and its contractors, ensuring project delivery aligns with Council’s requirements - especially regarding asset handovers, planning approvals, and compliance with formal Interface Agreements.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of civil infrastructure, asset management, and stakeholder engagement, contributing to major infrastructure projects.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

  • Be the Council’s primary contact for TfNSW on construction and planning interface matters.
  • Facilitate and track approvals for works permits, road occupancy licences, hoardings, scaffolding, crane licences, and Roads Act 1993 notifications.
  • Respond to technical plans and documentation submitted by State contractors.
  • Monitor compliance with Interface Agreements and manage asset handover processes.
  • Represent Council in meetings with government agencies, contractors, and the community.
  • Keep internal records of decisions, commitments, and project milestones.
  • Provide high-level briefings to Council Executives and Directors.
  • Coordinate community engagement and media responses in collaboration with internal communications teams and TfNSW.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a confident and capable professional with experience navigating complex infrastructure environments and managing relationships across government, community, and industry.

Essential:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
  • Strong experience in infrastructure delivery, asset management, or local government construction.
  • Demonstrated success working with multi-stakeholder projects—particularly involving State Government.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including community liaison and internal briefings.
  • Understanding of relevant NSW legislation and council approval processes.

ABOUT THE COUNCIL

This Council is known for its strategic partnerships with State Government, commitment to sustainable development, and dedication to preserving local community interests. You’ll be joining a high-performing, forward-thinking team that values initiative, professionalism, and collaboration.
