About the Role
The Principal Adviser, Workplace Relations is a key member of the People & Culture (P&C) team at Flinders University and provides specialist advice to P&C Business Partners in case managing Industrial Relations/Employee Relations matters, manages complex industrial relations matters, and represents the University including in Industrial Tribunal.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Workplace Relations, other responsibilities include supporting enterprise bargaining, including drafting and implementation post negotiation, ensuring policies and procedures are maintained in line with legislation, and leading and contributing to a range of projects including major workplace changes requiring consultation.

About You
You will have demonstrated experience working in an industrial or employee relations capacity, including the management of employee investigations. You will also possess extensive knowledge and understanding of employee relations/industrial relations legislative and regulatory requirements and processes, and be an analytical, collaborative, problem-solver.
With postgraduate qualifications in Law, Industrial Relations or a related discipline and relevant experience, (or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training), you will have excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation, coaching, mentoring, and influencing.
The successful candidate will also have experience appearing before Industrial Tribunals.
You understand the importance of strong working relationships, particularly in the diagnosis of sensitive matters that need timely solutions. The ideal candidate will also have a sound understanding of contemporary People and Culture management theory and practice.
