WHS Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and proactive WHS Adviser to join and form an integral part of our Workplace Safety and Wellbeing Team.
Reporting directly to the Workplace Safety & Wellbeing Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with leaders, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs), and key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of effective WHS initiatives and compliance with legislation. While role spans from risk management to training, communication, and system development.
This position is ideal for a professional who is passionate about creating safer workplaces, enjoys building relationships across all levels, and thrives in a collaborative environment where safety is everyone’s priority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the delivery of WHS initiatives, projects, and compliance programs across clinical and non-clinical areas.
- Facilitate workplace risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations, including root cause analysis.
- Coordinate and support WHS consultation forums, including the WHS Committee, HSR Forums, and related safety communications.
- Maintain, review and improve WHS policies, procedures, and systems in line with legislation, accreditation standards, and internal schedules.
- Provide expert advice, coaching and guidance to leaders and staff around WHS legislation, risk controls, and safe work practices.
- Drive a proactive safety culture by developing and delivering engaging training and education programs across the organisation.
- Monitor, analyse and report on WHS data and performance, providing insights and solutions to drive improvement.
- Support the early intervention program, injury management, and workers compensation activities as required.
- Act as Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator when delegated.

If you are currently in a coordinator role looking for the next step in your WHS career, or looking to continue your WHS advisory experience, we are very open to looking at candidates at various levels.
Your capabilities include:
- Certificate IV or higher in Work Health and Safety (a WHS degree or additional formal qualifications will be highly regarded)
- Return to Work Coordinator certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in WHS roles, ideally within a complex healthcare or high-risk environment
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and the performance standards for self-insured employers
- Demonstrated experience in audits, incident investigation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to develop training materials and write policy/procedures
- Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach
- Empathy, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement
