About the role

Glenridge Park, a leading agribusiness in Mount Barker, Western Australia, is seeking an experienced Livestock Manager to join their team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the health, welfare, and productivity of the company's livestock herd, ensuring efficient and sustainable farm operations.

What you'll be doing

Develop and implement comprehensive herd management strategies to optimise livestock performance and meet production targets

Monitor the health and wellbeing of the herd, administering necessary treatments and preventative care

Oversee the breeding program, including genetic selection, mating, and birthing management

Manage the feed and nutrition requirements of the herd, ensuring optimal growth and condition

Supervise and coordinate the work of farm hands and livestock handlers

Maintain detailed records of herd performance, veterinary treatments, and other farm activities

Liaise with veterinarians, agronomists, and other industry professionals to stay up-to-date with best practices

Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable farming practices

What we're looking for

Qualification in agriculture, animal science, or a related field

Minimum 5 years' experience in a livestock management role, preferably in a commercial farming environment

Demonstrated expertise in herd health management, breeding, and nutrition

Proficient in the use of farm management software and data analysis tools

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on continuous improvement

Commitment to promoting sustainable and ethical farming practices
