The Healing centre Manager position supports Yokai’s mission by working with the Yokai Healing our Spirit team on:

1. Manage all aspects of the former Sister Kates site at Queens park during consultation period.

2. Lead consultation with Stolen generations survivors & descendants

3. Manager & support staff on site.

4. Engage & inform community.

5. Amplify the voice & stories of Stolen generations survivors & their families.

6. Co-develop & co design with survivors healing programs on the site.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Healing centre Manager position:

• Project Plan & manage meetings & events with Survivors

• Establish & manage survivor advisory committee.

• Develop detailed consultation timeline.

• Develop detail communication plan.

• Develop & oversee healing centre programs at the site.

• Provides guidance to staff on policies, protocols and strategies.

• Build & maintain relationships with partnership group members.

• Capture data & information for reporting purposes.

• Provide detailed & timely reports to the CEO

• Other duties as assigned by CEO.

Essential

1) Awareness of and can work to BTHWA’s mission of truth justice and healing as well as WASGAC’s strategic objectives.

2) Aboriginal & or Torres Strait Islander person or has significant experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people & possesses specific understanding of the Stolen Generations.

3) Demonstrated experience as a manager, leaders & motivators.

4) Provides support & supervision to staff.

5) Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. including the ability to produce clear and concise external communications.

6) Good conceptual, research, analytical and problem-solving skills.

7) Well-developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

8) Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and prioritise work.

9) Content planning & execution.

Desirable Criteria

1) Formal Qualification in leadership & or management

2) Experience working with ACCO’s

3) Experience working with Aboriginal people & communities.
