About the role
Hadfield Early Learning Centre is seeking a part-time Childcare Assistant Cook to join our dedicated team. Working 25 hours per week, you will play a vital role in providing nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our care at our facility located in Hadfield, VIC.
What you'll be doing
- Prepare and cook a variety of healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0-5 years
- Ensure all meals meet dietary requirements and accommodate any allergies or special diets
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the kitchen
- Work collaboratively with the Childcare Team to create an engaging and nurturing environment for the children
- Assist with general kitchen duties such as ordering supplies, stock management and cleaning
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a cook or chef in a childcare, educational or hospitality setting
- Food safety and handling qualifications (e.g. Food Safety Supervisor Certificate)
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and the ability to cater to a range of dietary requirements
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A genuine passion for working with children and providing the highest quality of care
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
