Position Available:

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Asian chef to join our kitchen team. If you love creating delicious food, take pride in your work, and enjoy being part of a supportive and fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

Assisting in planning authentic Chinese menus and determining portion sizes, ingredient quantities, and cost control strategies.

Preparing and cooking Chinese and other Asian dishes using both standardised recipes and personal culinary expertise.

Monitoring and ensuring the quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes leaving the kitchen.

Managing, training, and supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchenhands, in food preparation, wok skills, and hygiene practices.

Ordering and maintaining inventory of specialty Asian ingredients and kitchen supplies to meet daily production needs.

Collaborating with management to create new Asian-inspired menu items and continuously improve existing offerings.

Coordinating with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth kitchen-to-table service and timely delivery during peak hours.

Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations in the kitchen environment.

Requirements:

Having at least 6 years of proven experience working as a chef, preferably in Asian or Chinese cuisine.

Holding a Certificate IV in Asian Cookery or an equivalent qualification in a related field.

Understanding Chinese & Asian cooking methods, ingredients, and flavour profiles, with a passion for delivering authentic dishes.

Being familiar with food safety standards and hygiene regulations.

Showing the ability to work effectively under pressure, especially during peak service hours.

Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is not essential but highly preferable.
