About the Role

ilma Beach House is looking for an outstanding Head Chef to join our passionate team at our beautiful oceanside location in Naturaliste, Western Australia. In this full-time role, you will lead our kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of an exceptional dining experience for our guests. You will be crafting Mediterranean-inspired dishes using the finest local ingredients, offering a menu that celebrates vibrant flavors, fresh seafood, and seasonal produce. Your expertise will shine as you guide the team in creating a memorable culinary journey, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.

You will report directly to our Group Chef, working closely to ensure the continued success and excellence of the culinary offerings at ilma Beach House.

What you'll be doing

Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and team management

Develop and implement creative, high-quality menus that showcase the best of local and seasonal produce

Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and to the highest standards of food safety and quality

Manage and mentor a team of skilled chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment

Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and a exceptional guest experience

Monitor food and labour costs, and work to optimise operational efficiency

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and implement continuous improvements

What we're looking for

Significant experience as a Head Chef in a high-quality restaurant or similar establishment

Demonstrated expertise in creating innovative, flavourful dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team

Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure

Thorough understanding of food safety and kitchen operations regulations

Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience
