The members of the team are geographically spread across the region.

About the role

This role provides operational and clinical leadership and support to a team of seven AOD Counsellors and Case Managers, who also engage in diversion work. In this position, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery for our clients and ensure the maintenance of collaborative professional relationships with key local stakeholders.

You will work with a close-knit, committed team passionate about providing counselling and case management services for both youth and adults. At times, you will also work directly with clients providing a client centred, stepped care model offering individual and group counselling, pre- and post-rehabilitation support, relapse prevention, case management, care planning and care coordination for clients with AOD dependence.

Specifically, your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the provision of high-quality engagement, assessment, counselling, case management and support services to clients and their families using evidence-based practice principles.
  • Lead the clinical review of individual treatment plans and provide individual clinical supervision to the team of clinicians.
  • Foster local relationships – engage, interact, and collaborate with relevant LLW programs teams in addition to both internal and external service providers.
  • Provide expert AOD practice advice and secondary consultation to Alcohol and Other Drug Counsellor/Case Managers and any other support staff.
  • Lead clinical interventions in collaboration with Counsellors / Case Managers.
  • Provide operational, organisational and client reporting.
  • Manage a small independent case load, providing counselling and case management to clients with complex needs including dual diagnosis as/when required.

This is a full-time maximum term parental leave replacement position until late February/ early March 2026. The role is primarily based in Rockhampton but may periodically require travel to the other community office located in Gladstone.
