The Role
As a Culture in Mind – Team Leader, you will provide leadership and management for the Culture in Mind (CIM) team, delivering psychosocial recovery-oriented support services to adults from multicultural backgrounds experiencing complex to severe mental health challenges. Your leadership will ensure high standards of client care, team management, and service delivery, all within a culturally responsive framework. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet program goals and contractual obligations.

This is a full-time, position (part-time position considered) based in Ipswich and Toowoomba.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Provide line management and supervision to the Culture in Mind team, ensuring high-quality psychosocial support services.

Oversee intake, triage, and referral processes to ensure seamless access to services.

Lead multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and case conferences for optimal outcomes.

Ensure high standards of client file management, documentation, and record-keeping.

Manage rosters and resources to ensure flexible workforce coverage.

Monitor service delivery to ensure alignment with accreditation standards, policies, and legislation.

Contribute to program planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.

Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including partner organizations and external service providers.

Participate in service evaluations, data collection, and quality improvement initiatives.

Provide leadership in the development and implementation of new initiatives and projects.

Ensure team training aligns with evidence-based practice and cultural responsiveness.

Represent Multicultural Australia in sector forums and interagency meetings.

Participate in after-hours on-call support on a rotating roster, as required.

Travel to various locations within the region to ensure effective service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Mental Health, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or a relevant discipline.

Significant experience in operational leadership within human services or mental health programs.

Advanced knowledge of multicultural mental health, including acculturation stress and social determinants.

Experience in leading teams using trauma-informed, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented frameworks.

Strong communication skills, including documentation, reporting, and advocacy.

Experience in working with stakeholders across clinical, social, and community sectors.

Knowledge of Queensland’s health and social care systems, especially for migrant, refugee, and asylum seeker populations.

Valid Queensland Driver’s Licence, Blue Card (Working with Children), and National Police Clearance required.

Additional Desirable Skills:

Postgraduate qualifications in mental health.

Experience working in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary settings.

Lived experience or experience working alongside multicultural peer workforces.
