A permanent full-time opportunity has become available with a true market leader in the training sector. Over 100 schools across Queensland choose Blue Dog Training as their Registered Training Organisation to deliver vocational education in pre-apprenticeship skills to secondary school students (including Certificate I in Construction and Certificate II in Engineering).

We are seeking a strategic and passionate professional for this newly created, high-impact role that will make a lasting difference in the lives of young people. By bridging education and industry, you will play a critical role in preparing students for successful futures in skilled trades and beyond.

The Industry Engagement and Pathways Coordinator is responsible for building strong partnerships between education and industry to create meaningful and sustainable employment pathways for students. This role involves actively engaging with employers, Apprentice Connect Australia Providers (ACAPs), schools, and students to facilitate apprenticeships, training, and career opportunities. Success requires strategic thinking, relationship management, and a strong commitment to fostering industry-aligned training programs.

Key duties include:

Industry and employer engagement (establishing and maintaining strong, productive relationship with businesses and industry stakeholders to secure apprenticeship and employment opportunities for students).

School collaboration and program delivery (acting as the primary liaison with schools to support delivery of vocational education programs and promoting trade careers/apprenticeship pathways to students, parents and school staff).

Driving diversity and inclusion (advocating for increased participation of underrepresented groups in trades and developing mentorship networks and initiatives that promote equitable access to training and employment).

Student support and pathway tracking (track student progress and outcomes, monitor transition into apprenticeships/employment and address barriers to student success).

Governance and compliance (maintain accurate data on student outcomes, employer engagement and program effectiveness).

Drive results and inspire others (shape and continuously improve industry engagement strategies).

Reporting and stakeholder engagement (provide regular updates/reports to leadership team on program performance and outcomes and build/maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders).

To be considered for this permanent, full-time opportunity, you should demonstrate:

Demonstrated success in developing and delivering employment pathway programs.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to gather industry feedback to inform training design.

Experience in business development, ideally related to the trade sector.

Ability to support students in resume writing, cover letter preparation, and job interview coaching.

Sound understanding of school-based apprenticeships, work experience programs, and VET systems.

TAE40122 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Willingness to travel across Queensland (approx bi-monthly) for school visits, industry engagement, and stakeholder meetings, including collaboration with employers and Apprentice Connect Australia Providers (ACAPs).

Blue Dog Training is committed to child protection, wellbeing and inclusivity and applicants must be eligible to obtain a Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card).

This is an opportunity to join a highly recognised and reputable market leader with a track record of working with industry to deliver quality training outcomes for students for over 20 years. Blue Dog Training are offering an attractive salary package consisting of base salary ($100,000 per annum) + superannuation + company vehicle + laptop + phone and the position will be based out of Milton (some flexibility is available to work from Ipswich Office if preferred).

Apply today or contact Kylie Owens for a confidential conversation on 3812 2920 (or email [email protected]).

We look forward to hearing from you.
