Share Your Knowledge & Shape the Future of Water Operations!

· Deliver training that empowers Australia’s next generation of water operations professionals

· Full-time position based in Tennyson, Brisbane (with regular travel to incredible regional and remote locations)

· $92,000–$117,000 + Super, based on experience and qualifications

Simmonds & Bristow (simmondsbristow.com.au) is an environmental leader in regional and remote water resources. With 60 years of service to the Australian Water Industry, we attribute our continued success to the dedication, knowledge and innovation of our people. Our head office is located just 20 minutes from Brisbane and overlooks the Brisbane Golf Course. As a respected RTO, we’re committed to delivering high-quality, nationally accredited training that helps communities across Australia secure safe and sustainable water solutions.

We’re now seeking a Water Industry - Networks Trainer & Assessor to join our passionate and close-knit team. In this role, you’ll deliver hands-on, nationally recognised training to water industry operators, drawing from your own networks and plant operations experience. You’ll also help develop training materials, work with clients and play a key part in ensuring our training meets industry standards. If you’ve worked on the tools and love helping others succeed, this could be your perfect next career move.

This role involves developing and presenting training resources aligned to national competency standards, supporting quality assurance processes and liaising with internal departments to ensure smooth delivery of services. You’ll also support marketing and client engagement efforts and may contribute to site inspections or technical projects based on your expertise. A Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or equivalent is essential, and while a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) is required for the role, if you currently don’t have a TAE that is not an issue, we are happy to sponsor suitable candidates.

This position will suit someone who enjoys a methodical, practical approach to training, with the ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear, accessible way. You’ll be comfortable working independently while still appreciating structure and team collaboration. If you love the water industry and want to make a difference through training and development, we’d love to hear from you. Especially if the following attributes resonate with you:

You understand and process complex information and communicate it clearly to others

Work effectively at a steady pace, with good time and task management

Presenting ideas with clarity and purpose, even though you may usually be quite reserved

You balance independence with the ability to take direction when needed

Make deliberate, data-informed decisions ensuring you are practical and objective

Principally motivated by hands-on work, helping others and creative problem-solving

You will accommodate the needs of others but won’t hesitate to stand by your professional views

If the above resonates with you (even if you’re currently happy in your role), we may just have the career move you’ve been waiting for.

To apply, please submit your cover letter and resume . If you have any questions about this exciting opportunity, please contact Sherelyn Hallam, [email protected] .
