The Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated and dedicated individual to join the Forest Resources team in Bathurst as a Plantation Assessment Officer for a 12-month period.

About the role:
The purpose of this field-based position is to assist the Forest Resources team in achieving its tree improvement and biometric measurement objectives. The role includes conducting biometric inventory and wood quality sampling, implementing quality control measures, and supporting the establishment, measurement, and maintenance of tree improvement trials in accordance with prescribed techniques.
We would love you to have:
Proven organisational skills, including the ability to plan and prioritise work, and meet established standards and deadlines.
Ability to work independently, with a willingness to occasionally travel outside the region and work extended hours.
Ability to effectively use required technology (e.g. iPad, mobile apps, email, Microsoft Excel and corporate web-based systems), with a willingness to quickly learn and use new technologies.
Experience or the ability to obtain qualifications in chemical application, chainsaw operation, and drone use.
Ability to undertake firefighting duties as required and participate in the local fire standby roster.
