Catering Manager/Chef | CBD | Mon - Fri

In this hybrid role you will be responsible for:

Management and production of food items to fulfil our catering and event orders, including co-ordination with external suppliers/partners and small production orders.

Production of baked goods and sweets sold in our retail locations and supplied to fulfil our catering and event orders..

You will co-ordinate all elements of the production process from when orders enter our catering system through to packing, dispatch and co-ordinating delivery.

You will work closely with our Operations Manager who is responsible for Fossix Retail operations.

Your responsibilities include:

Catering Management Tasks:

Day to day management of food production for all catering orders and events, produced both in house or through our supply partners.

Co-ordinate delivery and dispatch all outgoing orders on time, while making sure all products are properly labeled and packaged.

Liaise with our wholesale food suppliers to order and fulfil any catering requirements briefed by the Events & Catering Manager.

Ensuring every order is correct and well presented.

Managing the production side of our online catering and events system in collaboration with the Events & Catering Manager/Supervisor.

Collaborating closely with the Events & Catering Manager on any changes/updates.

Managing inventory and stock control.

Co-ordinating all aspects of the daily delivery schedule and ensuring all orders are delivered on time to our clients, including checking all incoming deliveries from our suppliers are complete and correct.

From time to time, working as a chef at client site events.

Baking & Pastry Production:

Managing & producing baked goods on a daily basis for retail and catering orders including items such as muffins, breakfast cups and sweet bites.

Liaising with our backup Baker for any supplementary production requirements, including ordering stock/ingredients.

Managing inventory and stock control and co-ordinating with the Events Manager for any outsourced stock supply requirements.

Baking and dressing celebration cakes on demand as required.

We are looking for someone with:

Experience working in food productions for catering and events.

Strong organisational skills.

High attention to detaiI.

Strong technology competency and experience.

Excellent communication skills.

Track record working as part of a team.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.

This is a role suited to an experienced hands-on chef who has worked in catering and has experience managing a team. Pastry and sweets make up a considerable part of our menu so experience working as a pastry chef would be advantageous but not essential.

Pay negotiable based on experience.
May 19th start date or earlier
