About the role

This role provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the 'orange' school bus service contracts, ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective transport of students in rural Western Australia and those with disabilities. It is responsible for contract management, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. A key focus is on operational efficiency, service delivery, and continuous improvement through close collaboration with schools, communities, and transport providers. The role also leads investigations into incidents and complaints, contributes to ministerial and parliamentary responses, and represents the PTA in forums and working groups.

As a people leader, the role oversees a team responsible for delivering high-quality services, ensuring adequate resourcing, and maintaining financial accountability. It plays a critical role in workforce planning, recruitment, and professional development by mentoring team members and supporting future capability needs. The position also contributes to organisational design reviews, JDF development, and the implementation of operational changes aligned with new policies and standards to support long-term improvement.
