About the role:

I am partnering with a not-for-profit based north of Melbourne’s CBD to recruit a Employee Relations Advisor on a short-term contract. This is a full-time role, working Monday – Friday. The company offers hybrid work options – 2 days from home and 3 days from the office. The role is to start ASAP and is initially contracted for 6-8 weeks.

In this role, you’ll support managers and internal stakeholders with complex employee relations and workplace matters, including investigations, grievances, performance management, and policy development. This is a hands-on advisory role requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex ER/IR matters including complaints, investigations, performance issues, restructures and misconduct
  • Provide expert guidance on employee and industrial relations matters
  • Partner with P&C Business Partners and managers to build capability in ER/IR
  • Contribute to policy development, case management resources, and best-practice toolkits
  • Stay up to date with legislative changes and ensure compliance across processes
  • Assist with WorkCover and WHS-related issues as needed

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Law, or a related field
  • Strong technical knowledge of Fair Work legislation and relevant Awards (SCHADS knowledge highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex ER/IR cases end-to-end
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Prior experience in the not-for-profit, health, or community services sectors preferred

Benefits:

  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a mission-driven organisation
  • Flexible hybrid work model – 3 days in the office and 2 from home
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture
