Your new company

Our State government client is looking for an experienced Industrial Relations Consultant to join their team on a 6- month short-term temporary contract with possibility of extension.

Your new role

• Provides consultancy and advisory services on interpreting awards, agreements, and people-related legislation to ensure compliance and best practices.
  
• Manages complex industrial relations matters, including negotiation, conciliation, and mediation, and develops recommendations for resolution.
  
• Offers high-level advice and support on work health and safety, ensuring effective management practices and compliance with industry standards.
  
• Develops and implements strategies, policies, and projects to attract, retain, and motivate a skilled workforce, and manages adverse workplace behaviours.
  
• Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, participates in working groups, and leads business improvement initiatives to enhance performance and align with operational objectives.
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Considerable experience in providing industrial relations advice, consultancy and managing complex industrial relations matters to resolution.
• Government experience is essential for this role.
• Experience in researching and interpreting legislation relevant to people management and developing policies, strategies and procedures to meet requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to build, establish and maintain trusting relationships with key stakeholders to progress Corporation objectives.
• Highly developed report writing, research, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to provide innovative HR solutions to issues.
• Progress towards or possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in human resource management, WHS or industrial relations.
