A Queensland State Government department is seeking an experienced and capable Principal HR Consultant – Employment Relations (AO7) to join their People and Culture team. This temporary opportunity offers the chance to lead complex employment relations matters, influence HR strategy, and contribute to a high-performing, values-driven organisation.

About the Role
As the Principal HR Consultant – Employment Relations, you will:
- Provide expert advice and case management on workplace matters including performance, conduct, grievances, and organisational change.
- Act as the subject matter expert in employment relations, supporting leaders across the organisation.
- Lead and contribute to HR projects, strategies and initiatives aligned with the department’s strategic workforce plan.
- Develop and present high-quality written briefings and documentation on complex HR matters.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Coach and support the development of the broader HR partnering team.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Public Sector experience is preferred
- Extensive experience in employment relations and workplace case management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, confident advice on complex workplace issues.
- Proven relationship-building and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to HR projects and strategic initiatives.
