We are seeking an experienced Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant to join our diverse and passionate nursing team in our Aged Care facility - Lulworth House. This position is on a full-time basis Monday to Friday.
Your Responsibilities:
- Facilitate leisure and lifestyle activities tailored to meeting individual interests, as well as social, spiritual, physical and emotional needs of residents
- Recording and evaluating residents’ responses and engagement in group-based activities and individual interactions
- Participate in team meetings and planning sessions for upcoming events and activities, contributing new innovative ideas
- Create and evaluate individualised activity plans and assessments as needed, adhering to the Aged Care Standards and Guidelines
- Cover for other Lifestyle Staff on leave and work on weekends, public holidays and during the week as required
- Demonstrate St Luke’s Care Values of Excellence, Transparency, Integrity, Respect and Trust both inside and outside of work
Essential Criteria:
- Experience as a Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant or Diversional Therapist within an Aged Care desired
- Able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Committed to ongoing educational and professional development
- The ability to be flexible, creative and enthusiastic whilst maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in an aged care facility or hospital
- Previous experience with dementia care
