Your Opportunity
This role will assist in implementing different techniques to engage our consumers in purposeful and engaging programs. This role will work with our consumer engagement coordinator to motivate & stimulate each care recipient through the activities conducted at this service.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Individually assess the social needs of each care recipient & structure programs that are appropriate to these needs
- Encourage the participation of all care recipients in the activity program
- Spend time & devote effort to the socialization of individual care recipients
- Carry out duties as directed by the Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator
- Facilitate the shopping needs of all care recipients
- Assist the mobilisation of care recipients to the activity room & other areas
- Develop a monthly care recipients' newsletter to be distributed to both care recipients of the facility & their family or nominated representative
Requirements for Success
- Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent (desirable)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within healthcare or aged care with exposure to residents with mental health and challenging behaviour
- Intermediate Computer Literacy skills and ability to use Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to build positive, respectful and collaborative relationships
- Results-oriented with proactive approach
- Alignment with organisational values and person-centred care principles
- COVID Booster and Flu vaccination for this year
- Driver's Licence
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and NDIS clearance.
