Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and proactive HR Generalist to join our team at Indie Education. This role offers a unique opportunity to make an impact across key HR functions, including recruitment, wellbeing and employee relations. Whether you're an experienced HR professional or a recent graduate ready to start your career, you'll play a key role in supporting managers and employees at every stage of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to wellbeing initiatives. Your contribution will help create a positive, engaged workplace culture that supports individual growth and organisational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support in managing employee relations matters, with a focus on fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Partner with leadership to help implement employee wellbeing programs that support both physical and mental health, ensuring employees feel supported and valued.
- Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to managers, helping them develop the skills needed to effectively manage their teams and improve team dynamics.
- Act as a trusted HR point of contact for general HR queries, providing timely and actionable advice to managers on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, practices, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with the organisation's goals.
- Coordinate the recruitment administrative process, working closely with managers to ensure the timely and effective hiring of new team members.
- Support managers in the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for new employees.
- Assist with maintaining HR-related training content and support the training team in ensuring employee training records are up to date and accurate.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify HR strategies and initiatives that align with business objectives and enhance organisational performance.
- Support the execution of HR-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organisational goals, while coordinating resources and stakeholders.
- Maintain and update the HRIS system, ensuring accurate employee data, smooth system functionality, and compliance with organisational and legislative requirements.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, Australian employment laws, and workplace compliance.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to assist with HR projects, meeting deadlines and objectives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Passion for coaching and helping managers develop leadership skills.
- Adaptable and solutions-focused, proactively managing challenges and change.
- Strong problem-solving skills, providing practical HR solutions.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to occasionally travel interstate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; or
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in an HR Generalist role; or
- Other relevant qualification and 5+ years' experience
Mandatory Certifications:
For this role, applicants must be willing and able to obtain:
- Annual National Police Checks
- Working with Children’s Check (relevant to the state(s)).

Remuneration
- Remuneration will be offered in accordance with the AWCC Enterprise Agreement 2022-2025, at Level 12 ($98,944) to Level 14 ($106,281), depending on experience and qualifications.
