Part-Time Medical Receptionist – Illawarra Family Medical Centre (Wollongong, NSW)

Are you an experienced and highly organised Medical Receptionist looking for a flexible, part-time role in a welcoming and supportive environment.

At Illawarra Family Medical Centre, we're looking for a friendly and professional individual to be the welcoming face of our practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a vital role in delivering excellent service and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our practice.

What you'll be doing:

Greeting patients warmly and managing enquiries in person and over the phone

Scheduling and managing appointments using our practice management system (Best Practice)

Maintaining financial records, processing patient payments, and processing Medicare claims.

Keeping the reception area tidy and presentable

Supporting the medical team with administrative tasks

Ensuring patient confidentiality and following data protection protocols

What we're looking for:

Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a customer service role in healthcare

Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Excellent communication skills, with a warm and professional manner

Strong organisational and time management abilities

Proficiency in using medical software particularly Best Practice and general computer systems

A caring, empathetic approach with a genuine interest in patient wellbeing

High attention to detail and discretion when handling sensitive information

A proactive team player who shows initiative

Availability to work a mix of early starts (from 7:00am) or later finishes (up to 7:00pm)
