Role description

To lead the sales relationship with existing customers, the Account Manager provides strategic leadership to customers relating to technology focused business outcomes and owns opportunities from initiation to closure, by working collaboratively with internal pre-sales and customer focused peers. This is a farming role, focused on expanding business development opportunities within existing customer accounts, and strengthening the relationships to open up organic opportunities for further business.

Tasks & responsibilities

Build and maintain high value relationships with customers (new or existing)

90% Farming with 20% hunting

Engage in full sales cycle solutions based selling with long sales cycles

Expand and farm within existing customer relationships

Manage a diverse portfolio of customers closely with their assigned Customer Success Manager, however you role will be focused on identifying new business opportunities

Gain understanding of customer business objectives, pain points and perception of value

Define, drive and present customer proposals or quotes that will result in high value customer outcomes with clear and measurable benefits

Attend and participate in training, development, and certification activities as and when required

Stay up to date with specialist technical skills, capability and industry knowledge

Assist with the qualification, planning and execution of marketing related activities

Drive and participate in vendor relationship building and co-sponsored activities such as marketing events and campaigns

Development and maintenance of customer aligned plans. Fostering close and highly valuable relationships with aligned customers. Customer satisfaction

Demonstrate a high degree of leadership and ownership relating to assigned customers, opportunities and any issues that may impact our relationship with a customer

Work closely with the ecosystem of partners to manage leads, campaigns, and opportunities

Identify and engage with the appropriate customer stakeholders to enable decision making

Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of the service catalogue and how it relates to customer needs.

Qualifications & experience

At least 5 + years in a technology sales role with strong account management experience

Strong experience in the scoping, pricing, and delivery of professional and managed services proposals

Significant experience selling with and through partner / vendor organizations

Demonstrated knowledge of ICT Networks, End User Computing, Cloud concepts, and Cyber Security concepts

Strong skills in the development of complex proposals and business cases

Sales background within the technology industry, such as: Managed Services, professional services, IT services / consulting, IT vendors, hardware & IT sales

Strong sales experience selling IT solutions (Hardware or Services)

Good presentation skills & strong communication skills
