The Opportunity:
Tasman Power are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team located in Jandakot. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll processes and related administration to ensure smooth and efficient payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Coordinate and process weekly payroll, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements.
Maintain accurate payroll data on HR3, prepare reports, and process salary adjustments, leave, and terminations.
Manage deductions, job costing allocations, superannuation, Payroll Tax, and Construction LSL.
Facilitate salary transfers, reconcile PAYG Payment Summaries, and ensure timely submission to the ATO.
Advise on payroll procedures, compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Resolve payroll issues, maintain accurate records, and liaise with management, employees, and HR/Finance teams.
The successful applicant will have:
3 - 5 years' experience in a payroll position within a similar industry (preferably mining)
Strong knowledge of award and enterprise agreement interpretation
In-depth understanding of payroll systems, procedures, statutory requirements, and accounting standards
Experience with payroll software (HR3 preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Knowledge of superannuation and workers' compensation legislation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
