We are currently working with a premier developer builder renowned for delivering high-quality residential projects, including luxury homes and modern apartment developments, across Melbourne. Their portfolio showcases a commitment to excellence, innovation, and attention to detail. They are growing and looking to add a talented Junior Contract Administrator to their team who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the successful delivery of our exciting projects.
Position Overview:
As a Junior Contract Administrator, you will play a key role in assisting the contracts and project management teams. You’ll be supporting the day-to-day administrative tasks and documentation processes related to construction contracts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in construction and gain valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation, review, and management of construction contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Track project budgets, variations, and progress claims, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
- Help prepare and manage procurement processes for materials, subcontractors, and services.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure that all contractual obligations are met.
- Assist with the coordination and management of site instructions and change orders.
- Maintain and update project documentation, including contracts, correspondence, and meeting minutes.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
- Support the Project Managers in the day-to-day running of projects.
- Assist with the preparation of progress claims and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and company policies.
We are looking For:
- A recent graduate or someone with up to 2 years of experience in construction, contract administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and project delivery.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive and organized approach to work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- A keen interest in developing a career within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is essential.
- A relevant qualification in construction management, project management, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience).
