Reporting to:
BICSI Coordinator and BICSI Administration Officer
Responsibilities:
To aid the BICSI Coordinator in administering the Macleay office as specified personnel for Services Australia Agency and BICSI Information Centre administration.
Duties:
Ø Services Australia Agency
Undertake thorough training to function as specified personnel for the Services Australia Agency which includes:
Provide a monthly report to Services Australia and the BICSI Coordinator
Assisting with the set-up and use of MyGov accounts.
Use of the Silver Service line that provides direct access by specified personnel to Services Australia.
Provide Point of Identification services according to policies and procedures.
Understanding where to find and provide relevant Services Australia forms as needed.
The use of the Services Australia equipment including computer, fax, and phone.
Assisting with enquiries by those with disabilities e.g., sight, hearing, writing, reading.
Assisting with Job Search as needed.
Assisting with the many and varied requests from the community for Services Australia including Medicare aid.
Ø Macleay Information Centre
Undertake training in data collection for the BICSI Information Centre and the monthly reporting.
Ø Administration
At all times maintain confidentiality in relation to Services Australia Agency clients and to all internal BICSI operations and issues.
Ensure compliance with relevant Anti-Discrimination and Privacy legislation.
Attend staff meetings and maintain links with other sections of the organisation to enhance internal communication where required.
Undertake professional development skills, upgrading as required by BICSI and Services Australia an BICSI.
Undertake workload in an efficient and effective manner.
Communicate effectively with the BICSI Coordinator and work as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and volunteers at all locations as requested to foster and maintain amicable working relationships.
Ø Community Assistance Fund (CAF/ERF)
Develop and maintain knowledge of the conditions that apply to the distribution of CAF/ERF monies.
Use CAF/ERF database in an accurate and competent manner.
Aid in providing accurate CAF/ERF reports in a timely manner to the BICSI Coordinator.
Maintain the confidentiality of issues associated with CAF/ERF applications and users.
Follow the current process for assistance application forms.
Maintain a working knowledge of how the CA/FERF vouchers and petty cash systems operate.
Correctly determine the type and amount of CAF/ERF assistance which can be provided in accordance with BICSI policy.
Communicate with the BICSI Community Connect Worker.
Gain knowledge of SMBI Community Hub groups and referral of clients to specific groups
Ø Financial
Follow established financial protocols at all times.
Assist with banking if required.
Accurately maintain petty cash records, undertake reimbursement as authorised and separate between job codes.
Supply information as required for reports.
Ø Marketing
Access and provide accurate marketing material both electronically and in printed media as required.
Attend and/or ensure staff attendance at relevant and appropriate information sessions and meetings etc.
Required Skills:
MS Office 365 - Outlook, Word, Excel; Driver’s License; Basic bookkeeping knowledge. Must have a clear police record.
Skills Prepared to Acquire:
Training as specified personnel for Services Australia Agency and BICSI office general duties.
Part Time Hours:
This position is for a maximum of 25 hours per week.

Registered Training in Aged Care, Disability, Retail, Engineering, Horticulture, Language Literacy and Numeracy and work skills programs to assist long term unemployed people back into the workforce.
Offender Reintegration Support Service (ORSS) - CEA delivers the through-care ORSS in Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton preparing offenders for release. Staff assist 6 months post release with housing, mental health issues, transport, family relations, anger management to ensure they remain crime free in the community.
Pathway2Employment (P2E) - This ‘through-care’ program commences in prisons (Cairns and Maryborough), engages with clients and prepares clients for life and work post release. Case Managers provide parallel services with JSAs and link with Probation and Parole to provide a holistic service to ex-offenders.
