We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our administrative team. The position is responsible for the handling of patient accounts, all incoming telephone calls, meeting & greeting our patients and their families, and managing all key front desk reception duties to support a busy team in a patient care focused environment. We expect our staff to be multi skilled and able to fulfil a variety of responsibilities. We are seeking someone with a genuine love for helping people and someone who enjoys working as part of a team, to deliver the best possible care and attention to our patients.

This role is a casual position of approximately 8-16 hours per week, between the hours of 8am & 6pm, as well as additional hours to cover sick/annual leave. Flexibility is a must.

Essential Attributes

• Experience as medical receptionist
• Mature, courteous and professional
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills & telephone manner
• Work well in a team environment
• Able to demonstrate initiative
• Ability to multitask & time manage

Desirable

• Understanding of a General Practice Setting
• Experience with Medical Software preferred (ideally Best Practice)
• Experience with Medicare item numbers & billing
• Booking & managing patient appointments
• Invoicing & money handling
