Our Client

Our client is looking for an Employee Relations Lead to join the team on a part-time permanent basis.

Your New Role

The purpose of this role is to serve as a trusted advisor, guiding our people leaders through the complexities of people management. Your role will encompass coaching, handling casework, providing policy advice, and conducting investigations, all aimed at fostering improved workplace outcomes.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and support across the organisation on all aspects of employee relations, including best-practice performance management and disciplinary processes, workplace investigations and complex people processes (e.g. ER aspects of non-work-related injuries and Fair Work Commission matters).
  • Coaching and developing leaders and employees, promoting self-service and confident, people-first decision-making
  • Offer insights into emerging people issues across the organisation and recommending solutions to prevent escalation, including additional learning and development needs for leaders and employees.
  • Working with the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Lead to identify and address psychosocial risks, such as bullying, harassment, and workplace stress, fostering safe and respectful environments.

What you need

  • Hands-on experience supporting leaders through various complex ER matters including misconduct, complaints, and terminations - providing guidance from start to finish.
  • Proven ability to coach and support employees and managers to address performance, conflict and conduct concerns.
  • Strong communication skills, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills are important, as is a commercial orientation.
  • Excellent consultative and written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate sensitive and strategic issues to a variety of stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of employment law, with proven expertise in interpreting and applying industrial instruments, policies, employment contracts, and legislation.
  • A high level of maturity and sound judgement, with the ability to handle complex and sensitive matters professionally.
