About the role
Join the Motor Neurone Disease Association Queensland as a Part-time Volunteer Coordinator and be a vital part of a passionate and compassionate team supporting those living with this devastating disease. This 0.5 FTE role is based in Oxley, QLD and will see you leading the coordination and support of our valued volunteer network.
What you'll be doing
Recruit, onboard, train and supervise a team of dedicated volunteers to support our essential services and programs
Develop and implement volunteer strategies, policies and procedures to ensure an enriched volunteer experience
Coordinate volunteer rostering, schedules and placements to meet the needs of our clients and the organisation
Provide support, supervision and recognition to volunteers to foster a positive, productive and rewarding volunteer program
Maintain accurate volunteer records and data, preparing reports as required
Collaborate with other team members to identify and meet the evolving needs of our volunteers and clients
What we're looking for
Previous experience in volunteer coordination, preferably in the community services or not-for-profit sector
Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills to build positive relationships with volunteers and clients
Excellent organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to multi-task and prioritise effectively
Sound knowledge of volunteer management principles, practices and legal/compliance requirements
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and independent decision-making
Passion for supporting people living with complex and terminal illnesses and their families
