Position: Bar and Event Manager
Location: Courthouse Hotel, Mullumbimby
Type: Permanent, Part-Time (30 hours/week)
Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday (afternoons/evenings, including closes)
The Courthouse Hotel Mullumbimby is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Bar and Event Manager to join our team. This unique role combines bar management with event coordination, offering the opportunity to create a lively, community-focused venue that offers both regular and special events. Key Responsibilities:
Bar Management: Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring efficient service, stock management, and a high-quality guest experience.
Event Planning & Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute regular community events including:
Live band performances (once a month)
Acoustic gigs (once a month)
Community events (e.g., comedy nights, educational events, art exhibitions) – once a month
Weekly pool competitions
Special holiday events (e.g., Anzac Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Melbourne Cup)
Community Engagement: Work closely with local artists, performers, and the community to create a diverse and inclusive calendar of events.
Staff Leadership: Supervise and motivate bar staff, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to all operational procedures.
Budget & Proposals: Manage event budgets and create proposals for upcoming events, reporting to the regional manager, licensee, and director.
Closing Responsibilities: Lock up and secure the premises four nights a week.
Administrative Tasks: Manage event bookings, maintain clear communication with suppliers and performers, and ensure all documentation is accurate.
Qualifications:
Prior Experience: Experience working in a bar and/or hospitality setting.
Event Management Experience: Proven experience organizing and executing events.
Licenses & Certifications: Current NSW RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and RCG (Responsible Conduct of Gambling) certifications.
Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong typing skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Desirable: Certificate in Event Management or similar qualification.
