About the Role

Yamba Golf and Country Club is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Events Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and growth of club functions, weddings, corporate gatherings, and sporting events. This role is responsible for facility bookings, event logistics, client engagement, and assisting the Club Operations Manager, Head Chef, Head Golfing Professional, Marketing Manager, and Club Staff ensuring our functions, weddings and all major club calendar celebrations are managed seamlessly.

This full-time salaried position, based in Yamba, NSW, presents an exciting opportunity to work at one of the region’s leading golf and country clubs, renowned for delivering exceptional sporting and social experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Respond promptly to all function and event inquiries, managing client expectations professionally.

Generate tailored event proposals and quotes, ensuring alignment with club standards and client needs.

Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and payment agreements with clients.

Coordinate and oversee major club events, including:

Seasonal celebrations like Christmas, New Years Eve, Easter, and Melbourne Cup.

Corporate and private functions, including weddings and corporate golf events.

Community sporting and social events, including Food Truck Festival events, Live Music Events ensuring the club remains a vibrant social hub.

Collaboration with our Head professional for golf tournaments (PGA Pro-Am, Yamba Open, and PGA Legends Tour). Note that Golf Experience not necessary...

Liaise with kitchen, catering, and beverage teams to ensure seamless execution of food and drink services.

Collaborate with the club’s marketing team to promote events and drive venue bookings.

Manage event operations meetings, ensuring all upcoming functions are finalized efficiently.

Coordinate event staff and preferred suppliers, ensuring high-quality experiences.

Maintain function booking software platforms and event documentation.

Source new sales leads and build relationships to maximize venue utilisation.

Customer Service Expectations

Ability to build strong rapport with members, guests, and internal teams.

Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour to ensure positive client interactions.

Strong delegation and team leadership skills, ensuring seamless event execution.

Willingness to go the extra mile to exceed customer expectations.

Excellent personal presentation and professionalism.

Ability to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life.

Sales & Functions Expectations

Minimum 3 years’ experience in event planning or venue coordination, ideally within clubs, hotels, or sporting venues.

Multi-venue or sporting event experience highly regarded.

Proven experience managing event booking software and responding to inquiries within set timelines.

Ability to source and manage partnerships with preferred suppliers to ensure smooth event operations.

Tailor event proposals in collaboration with catering teams, operations teams, and suppliers.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

Flexible work availability, including some weekends.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
