What You’ll Do
As our Duty Manager, you’ll lead bar operations across our venue spaces for events, ensuring exceptional service and smooth on-the-day running. Key responsibilities include:

Team Leadership: Manage and support event bar staff, fostering a fun, supportive workplace culture.

Operations Management: Oversee service, maintain exceptional guest experiences, and manage bar setup pre and post events.

Inventory Control: Manage and minimize wastage during event service to ensure profitability.

Financial Oversight: Track and analyze bar & staff performance and report on event outcomes.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure the bar adheres to licensing and safety regulations while upholding Flinders Lane values and standards.

About the Role
This is a part-time position, requiring a commitment of 20-30 hours per week. You’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of event hospitality, with weekends and event days as key focus areas.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a strong sense of accountability, initiative, and leadership. Our ideal candidate has:

2 years of Duty Manager experience - events experience preferred, but not required

Valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and understanding of Queensland Liquor Act

Valid RMLV (Responsible Management of Licensed Venues)

Knowledge of health and safety protocols in a venue setting

Experience with iVvy (or similar CRM software) and Lightspeed POS is highly desirable

Extensive knowledge of managing bars and staff for events.

Excellent communication and a talent for motivating a team.

Availability to oversee weekend events and handle on-the-spot decision-making.
