Turf Bar is looking for an Assistant Venue Manager to help lead one of Melbourne's most established and well-loved venues—right in the middle of the action on Queen Street.

Turf isn't your typical Sports Bar. It's a classic pub at its core—warm, familiar, and full of character—with over 25 years of history serving up cold pints, great food, and good chat. Our 15 TVs blend seamlessly into the space, bringing you everything from nail-biting finals to international fixtures. It's the electric energy of live sport, wrapped in the comfort of a true local.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position. You'll partner with the Venue Manager to ensure the pub runs like clockwork—whether during a packed Thursday lunch, a midweek footy clash, or a weekend filled with our beloved regulars. You'll lead from the floor, uphold our standards, and cultivate that "this is my local" feeling every day.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Drive service excellence, positive culture, and team performance from the front
Oversee daily operations including stock management, compliance, rostering, and cellar maintenance
Ensure the venue stays in top condition, managing beer lines and general repairs
Complete accurate end-of-week and end-of-month reporting
Monitor and enhance team compliance and performance through Tanda
Nurture our online presence and reputation
Foster a culture where exceptional hospitality and consistency are paramount

What You Bring:
Proven experience in pub or venue leadership
Sharp operational skills across stock, reporting, rostering, and cellar management
A steady, confident leadership approach that inspires your team
Genuine passion for authentic pub culture and intuitive service
Appreciation for sporting moments (passionate fan not required!)
