About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our talented culinary team at the Queens Hotel Gladstone. This is a full-time role based in our kitchen in Gladstone, Queensland. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

What you'll be doing

Prepare a variety of high-quality dishes and menu items to the hotel's exacting standards

Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the overall management and organisation of the kitchen

Ensure food safety and hygiene practices are upheld at all times

Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes

Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest solutions

Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff

Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work environment

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent role in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Formal culinary training and/or qualifications in commercial cookery

Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation and plating techniques

Excellent time management and multitasking abilities

Commitment to delivering consistently high-quality food and exceptional customer service

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under pressure

Proficient in the use of commercial kitchen equipment and tools

Food safety certification and knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations
