Central, is a 90-seat subterranean dumpling bar and restaurant, in Brisbane City opened in early October 2024 by the team behind Rick Shores and Norte/ Sueno on the Gold Coast, and Southside in South Brisbane.

Named after the frenetic Central district in Hong Kong, Central will also sit right in the heart of
Brisbane, slotted beneath the storied Piccadilly Arcade building on Queen Street.

We are hiring a Sous Chef and interested Chef de Partie level chefs. You will join this driven team and have support from the wider business in Brisbane and Gold Coast venues.

Our next Sous chef will have...

Passion for organised and high quality producing kitchens

Culinary skills that inspire and create learning opportunity for others in the kitchen

Ability to lead by example, train by demonstration and coach positivley to build brigade capability

Understand and action the metrics - rostering, COGS, payroll cost

A work the pans, work the pass and work the laptop at the right time way of work

Keen eye for reducing waste

High standards of presentation and cleanliness

Communication skills that engage, provide clarity and inspire all to do better than the day before

Ability to work in tandem with Head Chef, delivering consistent message

Accountable work ethic, be responsible for actions and raise up opportunities to do better

A genuine desire to learn and expand your knowledge is critical
