About the Role

  • Full-time, Maximum term contract (12 months)
  • Based in Melbourne CBD ~ La trobe Street
  • SCHADS Level 5 ~ $ 99,324.83 plus super and salary packaging

Role Purpose

The Risk Compliance Officer role is a pivotal role at Good Shepherd as it will support the implementation of key frameworks. The role will manage all the day to day activities with risk registers and support key enterprise risk and compliance activities. The role will report into the General Manager of Risk Assurance and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the operational risk register and coordinate the day-to-day work to ensure that the risk register is reflective of current operational risks.
  • Support and complete administrative and process tasks to support the development of the strategic risk register and maintenance of the strategic risk register.
  • Support the roll out of key processes associated with the enterprise risk framework and the compliance framework for example roll out of new BCP processes for all offices. Post roll out support maintenance of these.
  • Develop resources with the guidance of internal stakeholders. These resources will be developed to support implementation and maintenance of key frameworks for risk, compliance and policy governance.
  • Support compliance work that relates to AUSTRAC, ACNC and government funding obligations
  • Support and coordinate key tasks that relate to maintaining contract register and contract compliance checklist.
  • Develop with assistance and maintain the compliance register. This will include updating the compliance register as regulations change or other compliance requirements are imposed. Updates on regulations will be informed through a compliance subscription such as law compliance.
  • Support the implementation of the compliance framework – for example administrative tasks on audit schedule, coordination of corporate audits, support in development of audit templates, compiling and storage of compliance data and support in gathering information for internal reports.
  • Support administrative functions of internal audits and other auditing activities as directed by General Manager of Risk Assurance and Compliance.
  • Maintain law compliance by coordinating quarterly updates (and others) as per GSANZ processes.
  • Provide administrator support to internal meetings Chaired by General Manager of Risk Assurance and Compliance. This will include maintaining action item register, maintaining minutes and coordination of meetings.
  • Conduct internal audits that relate to contract compliance and corporate compliance.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Understanding of compliance and risk and be able to support and coordinate tasks related to the implementation of three key frameworks – Compliance, Enterprise Risk and Policy.
  2. Effectively communicate (written and verbal) and support key stakeholders with respect to contract management.
  3. Ability to create resource materials, write reports, construct flow charts and analyse information.
  4. Ability to adapt to different work styles of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  5. A willingness and motivation to learn and develop skills in enterprise risk and compliance.
  6. Ability to problem solve.

About You

  • Minimum Qualification – relevant bachelor’s degree with an interest in risk and compliance.
  • Experience in MS Office Suite and MS Teams.
  • Excellent Excel Skills
  • Preferable to have data analysis skills or statistical expertise
  • Understanding of compliance and processes aligned to contract management would be desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent Time Management and Organisational Skills
  • Passionate about working in the not-for-profit sector.
