The City of Subiaco is going through a transformation with significant change and evolution in terms of residential options, the commercial sector, retail, entertainment, leisure and recreation. This role sits in the Technical Services directorate and provides technical support, advice and education relating to waste management matters.
The key responsibilities of this role are to:
- Provide expert advice to the public, colleagues, and community on queries relating to waste and waste services provided by the City.
- Provide customer service and administrative support as required to meet the requirements of the branch and the organisation.
- Lead the design and implementation of educational campaigns and behaviour change strategies to influence waste behaviours of the public, businesses, and community organisations.
- Provided expert advice to the public, colleagues, and community organisations through the provision and implementation of educational workshops, zero waste events and resources.
- Manage waste data collection and reporting to meet state government requirement.
- Project delivery including responsibility for all project deliverables including planning documents; stakeholder meetings; data collection, analysis, and visualisations; report writing, and communication of recommendations to various audiences.
- Develop and review specifications for contracted works relating to waste and waste education projects.
- Organise quotes and tenders in accordance with budget management requirements for waste and waste education projects.
- Arrange authorisation of contract payments in accordance with the City’s delegations of authority.
Essential criteria
- A high level of organisational ability in planning, prioritising, and achieving outcomes to deadlines.
- Highly developed and proven interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish, develop and maintain new systems, strategies, and procedures.
- Ability to supervise contracts and associated budget.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Advanced ability to use corporate computer systems such as Microsoft Suite, including Excel and Publisher. Authority, HPE, Content Manager and Verint CRM desirable but not essential.
- Relevant work experience in waste management.
- Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and fit into a variety of roles to meet the requirements of the branch and the organisation.
Salary package
From $95,555 to $103,199 per annum pro rata, plus 11.5% employer superannuation and additional co-contribution to your superannuation.
